A friend of ours, Stella Orechia, is cycling 1,000 miles next month to support Mae Tao Clinic!
As part of a sabbatical undertaking, Stella already cycled 1,000 miles this summer to connect eight northwest Burmese Communities. The effort was to raise awareness and funds for a non-profit organisation, the Northwest Communities of Burma, which provides aid to regional Burmese through programmes, education and advocacy.
The second leg, or wheel, will take place in a 1,000 mile ride in Burma, this time for the Mae Tao Clinic. Stella will culminate her sabbatical as a volunteer with us in November and December. Visit Riding for Refugees to track Stella’s biking in Burma and to learn about her personal journey to return to her birthplace after 50 years.
To support Stella in her ambitious cycling adventure, as well as the Mae Tao Clinic, you can make a donation online here. Please indicate ‘Riding for Refugees’ in the memo box so we know it’s in honour of Stella’s ride!
