Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Mae Tao Clinic works hard to contribute to the SDG target of ‘end all forms of malnutrition, including achieving, by 2025, the internationally agreed targets on stunting and wasting in children under 5 years of age, and address the nutritional needs of adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women and older persons’.
Mae Tao Clinic provides all its admitted patients with 3 nutritious meals a day. We are actively screening all children under 5 for signs of malnutrition, and have an intensive admission and feeding program for malnourished children. Pregnant and lactating women receive education and dietary supplements. In addition, our school health program (reaching 4,000 children) includes screening and referral for malnourished children.
