Mae Tao Clinic held a World AIDS Day event today. Mae Tao Clinic held a World AIDS Day event today. Our numerous partner organizations: Shoklo Malaria Research Unit; Burmese Migrant Teachers' Association-BMTA; Committee for Protection and Promotion of Child Rights - Burma; MAP Foundation, Thailand, มูลนิธิศุภนิมิตแห่งประเทศไทย - World Vision Foundation of Thailand; Burma Medical Association (BMA); Back Pack Health Worker Team, The Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand - PPAT; Plan International Myanmar; Burma Children Medical Fund; and M-Fund supported and participated in the event to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, its treatment and prevention. During the event, for everyone's safety, we placed a screening area, all participants were requested to wear a mask, and only limited numbers of people were allowed to enter the event hall.

Despite having a few Covid-19 cases in Tak province, the pandemic has brought numerous challenges to us here in the clinic. Among them, we have seen a large amount of HIV positive patients unable to access their treatment across the border. We have responded with a joint project working with Mae Sot Hospital and partner organizations with the support of AidsArk, Embassy of Ireland in Thailand and numerous individual donors.

We at Mae Tao Clinic greatly thank all for the participation for making the event special.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to provi Thanks to your support, we have been able to provide essential services!

As part of the SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) program and to respond to the Covid-19 outbreak, Mae Tao Clinic's Community Health team together with our partner organization Suwannimit Foundation visited communities in Phop Phra area. During the visit, our team distributed hygiene supplies including masks, soaps, sanitation hand gels, sanitary packs, shampoos and protection kits of contraception pills and condoms to the community.
Many migrants are affected during the Covid-19 outbreak as numerous businesses have been shut down for months. And some communities are located in hard-to-reach areas so the outreach service is imperative.
During the visit, we also provided health education on handwashing and Covid-19 and distributed posters to raise awareness of the infectious disease and its prevention.

We will continue these essential services to protect our community.
